1957 - 1973 Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company Apprentice -- Hull Structural Designer -- Systems Engineer Design of advanced military systems and for commercial marine systems suitable for transporting arctic oil and gas to the lower 48 states, resulting in two company awards for innovative military design and two patents for arctic marine systems.
1973 - 1974 Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company Manager, Producibility Study Creation and evaluation of alternative facility layouts using operations analysis techniques that allowed selection of production processes and major equipment selections for the company's new shipbuilding facility to construct LNG Carriers and Ultra-Large Crude Carriers.
1974 - 1977 John J. McMullen Associates Director of Shipyard Development and Special Projects Shipyard design, development, and marketing, especially for the government of Curacao. The analysis of shipyard operations to determine needed facility improvements to enhance productivity for the four shipyards of The American Shipbuilding Company.
